The Design of the Project
Industry experts from around the world will answer the following questions:
· What is the ideal set of technology implementations to produce a net-zero city framework?
· What resources will be required to implement a net-zero framework?
· How much will it cost?
· And, which sectors will need to work together to deliver the most economical, carbon neutral solution?
Committee Members will:
· Assess the viability of technology application within the city structure.
· Select appropriate technologies.
· Make recommendations for site specific work.
· Advocate for their company’s expertise.
· Work with the Program Administrator to create a final deliverable for the Board.
The final recommendations will be the starting point for design and development of an actual city development that is being financed now.
Time Allocation: Over an 8-month period, committees will meet between 10-20 (min-max) times to review technology applications, recommend additional resources, and use their sector-specific expertise to inform on carbon-neutral infrastructure recommendations for a new city, built from scratch. Details on the subject and recommended time frame for each meeting will be provided to successful applicants.
Location: Meetings will be coordinated via online-conference software between committee members and will be scheduled in consultation with each member on the first call.
Resources: Each committee will have a Program Administrator available to them to help with conducting meetings, performing further research or collection of resources as required, and completing the final presentation to deliver to the Board.
Each committee member will be paid a nominal fee for their participation based on the time requirements and their role.
The Program Administrator will also act as a facilitator between committee members and the Board and will handle communications between groups.
Moving to Phase II – PLANNING: For those committee members who are selected to continue to the next round, a further set of meetings may be scheduled to review resources. Further information will be provided at the first meeting of successful applicants.
The final recommendations will be invaluable tools for all industry experts to use when considering reducing carbon impact with other development projects.
Your Application: We recommend that each individual work with their company or research team to back their application and the application fee. The nominee should be someone who is passionate about sustainability and highly knowledgeable within their field.
Recommendations:
· Committee members may recommend their own company provide a specific service for certain aspects of development.
· Committees may recommend another company, technology, or resource not included in the provided material to provide a specific service for development needs.
Each applicant will be considered an investor in the project and will be provided with a final draft of all program recommendations.
It is the intention of the Board to invest in each company and technology that will be implemented in the city. Each technology application will be considered by our finance team for investment and commercial viability.
